Your 3 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga will take you to some of the most beautiful places in Morocco, like the High Atlas Mountains, where you can enjoy the stunning views and visit real Berber towns.
On your three-day desert trip from Marrakech to Merzouga, you’ll have the chance to see the famous Kasbah of Ait ben Haddou, which was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. This stunning location has been used in many movies, such as Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz.
We will then go to Ouarzazate to see the Oscar Atlas film studio, which is Morocco’s biggest film studio, and the Taourirt kasbah. Our tour from Marrakech to Merzouga continues through the palm grove of Skoura, the Rose valley, which is famous for its annual rose festival and cosmetics, the green Dades valley, and the amazing Todra Gorge, which is a popular place for rock climbing.
When we finally get to Merzouga–Erg Chebbi desert, our favorite place to visit, we’ll ride camels to watch the sunset and spend the night at a Berber camp. We’ll take breaks along the way on the way back to Marrakech the next day to take pictures and enjoy the views. heading back to Marrakech after going through the Draa Valley and the Anti-Atlas.
After breakfast, at 8:30 a.m., your driver from Sahara Camel Trips will pick you up from your hotel or riad and take you on our Marrakech desert trips. It took three days to drive over the 2260-meter Tizi n'Tichka pass, where you could see amazing views of the Atlas mountains and real Berber towns.

We'll get to Dades Valley in the afternoon, have dinner, and spend the night at a hotel with a view of the valley.
After breakfast at the hotel, our three-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga will begin. We will go to Todra Gorge, passing through Tinghir and several Berber towns along the way. Before we get to the Todra Gorges, which are one of the most famous places to rock climb in Morocco right now, we'll stop to enjoy the view of the beautiful Todra valley, which is full of palm trees.
Here, we'll take a short walk through the rocky, pink, and gray high gorges that can reach 300 meters deep. After that, we'll go to Tinjdad and Touroug for lunch, and then to Erfoud, where we'll feel the first oasis of the Sahara.
After, we'll keep going to Merzouga and the beautiful Erg Chebbi dunes. To get to your Nomadic berber tents, you'll have to ride a camel for about an hour and a half. During the trek, you'll stop in the middle of the dunes to watch the sunset, try sandboarding if you're interested, take pictures, and enjoy the view.
After the sun goes down, you'll go to the camp and be greeted with a drink of mint tea. You'll then have dinner, a campfire, a music party, and a place to stay the night at the Berber camp Merzouga.
After breakfast and a shower at camp the next day, you may ride the camels or take a 4WD back to the starting location, where you will meet your driver, after seeing the dawn.
After there, we'll drive through an arid pre-desert region on our way back to Marrakech, passing past characteristic acacia trees. We'll pause along the route to the Draa valley to take in the breathtaking views of the river that gives the valley its name. It is Morocco's longest river.
Our 3 Days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga continues as we traverse the Anti Atlas to reach Ouarzazate. After some free time for lunch in the city, we'll continue on to Marrakech, arriving late afternoon or evening.
