Overview:

The 5 Days Marrakech Desert Tour is one of the best trips we offer through the Marrakech desert. It’s the best choice for tourists with a lot of time in Morocco who want to skip the long drive between Marrakech and Merzouga and spend more time at each destination.

You will have a lot of time on this 5 day trip from Marrakech to Merzouga, so you can have a great trip through the high Atlas Mountains, seeing real Berber villages, canyons, palm groves, green valleys, old kasbahs from the 1400s, and of course the Sahara desert of Erg Chebbi, where you can go on a camel trek in Morocco.

Folks who want to see the real Morocco should plan to spend at least five days in Marrakech. During that time, they should meet Berber desert families, drink mint tea, and learn about how they live in tents.

Tour Itinerary: 5 Days Marrakech Desert Tour

At 8:30 a.m., our local driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech after breakfast. The first stop on your 5 Days Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour is the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, which is 2,260 m above sea level and leads to the Dades valley in the High Atlas mountains.

We will enjoy the mountain road with its beautiful scenery and range of colors. Along the way to Ouarzazate, we will pass through many traditional Berber towns and stop at Taourirt Kasbah, which is one of the most impressive ksars in Morocco, as well as the Oscar film studios, where we will have lunch.

The next place to see is the Rose Valley, which is reached by walking through the large Skoura palm field. This is a beautiful spot to take in the scenery, and there are many kasbahs built in the area. Roses are grown in this valley for beauty uses, like making the valuable rosewater.

The Rose Festival takes place here every May, and the museum is an important part of Moroccan culture. We'll continue to Dades Valley, where we'll spend the night at a hotel with a view of the valley.

The transportation we used throughout the excursion.

Toyota Prado

At Moroccan Desert Tours, we offer a wide range of hiring cars with drivers. Because the roads in the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert can be rough, our company uses Toyotas, which are some of the best 4WD cars. We have a Land Cruiser, a Toyota Prado, and a Toyota Prado TX. All over Morocco, our 4x4s are registered and allowed to be used by tourists.

Vito

If you want to travel through Morocco in style and ease, the Mercedes Vito is a great choice. For safety and comfort, it has strong air conditioning, airbags all around, and seats that are plenty big. It's great for small groups, even though it can fit up to six people. What's the bonus? There is a mini-fridge on board where you can keep your drinks and snacks during the trip!

Ford

You might want to rent a Ford Torneo if you're going to Morocco with a big family (up to 8 people). The van is the biggest in its class, and it can fit up to 10 bags and lots of people. The van is strong enough to handle cold and wet weather, and the seats are comfortable. So, it's a safe and roomy option for traveling around Morocco.

Mercedes Sprinter

The Mercedes Sprinter is a good choice if you're going to Morocco with a group. The bus is fancy and roomy enough for up to 17 people to sit easily. The Mercedes Sprinter will make your trip feel extra special, whether you're going on a short trip or a long tour through the scenery of Morocco.

Reviews about our 5 days desert tour Marrakech to Merzouga

The accommodations were tidy and comfy. It was fantastic, the tent in the desert. Being outside on the sand dunes is an experience that is incomparable. The natives will tell you that a head scarf is necessary, so I would advise packing one, even though the cost would be twice what you would spend if you bought one in before.

This excursion has exceeded the expectations of our group. Traveling through Morocco may be a little intimidating; only the most daring travelers would venture onto its roads to reach the interesting destinations included in this itinerary. It was very interesting and enjoyable to see the city from the desert, the city, and several locations throughout the countryside. It's quite useful to have everything organized for you, including camel rides, luxurious tents to sleep in, tour guides, etc. Everything about the vacation surpassed my expectations, and it's a very fantastic deal considering what you're spending. Essentially, it was a five-day vacation with everything covered (except for lunch and maybe an exhibit entry ticket if you stayed until the very end, which some tour group members did not do due to travel schedules). We would not have been able to see Marrakesh without this trip. Our other guides, Azul/Abdesalam in particular, were really gregarious and talkative. We appreciate you letting us explore your culture!
