Overview:

The Marrakech to Fes 2 Days Tour via Erg Chebbi Dunes is ideal for those who don’t have much time in Morocco but still want to go on a camel trip and spend the night at a camp in the Merzouga desert.

This two-day tour departs from Marrakech to Fes. We will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech early in the morning, at 7:00 a.m., so that we have time to make as many stops as possible along the way. We will then head to the High Atlas mountains, crossing the Tizi N´Tichka pass and stopping to take pictures of the traditional Berber small villages that blend in with the landscapes.

Next, we’ll head south to the ksar (walled town) of Ait Ben Haddou. Here, we’ll make a quick stop to take pictures, or, if you’re going in the summer, you can do a short visit. In 1986, UNESCO designated the famous Kasbah as a World Heritage Site.

Films such as Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara, starring Penélope Cruz, have all taken place here. On our second day in the desert, from Marrakech to Fes, we will continue to see the film studios and Taourirt Kasbah from the outside in Ouarzazate. We will also make short stops for pictures at beautiful places.

In Tinejdad or Touroug, you can choose to have lunch on your own. After lunch, we’ll keep going to the Merzouga desert to see the beautiful Erg Chebbi dunes. You’ll ride a camel for 1 to 1:30 hours to get to our Berber camp. Before dinner, you’ll have the chance to watch the sun go down from the top of a hill.

If sandboarding is something you want to do, go for it. Take pictures and enjoy the view. Next, we’ll head to the camp, where we’ll welcome you with a slice of mint tea and treat you to a delicious meal. After dinner, you can listen to traditional Berber drumming music and then sleep in a tent under the stars.

On the second day, you’ll wake up to a wonderful meal and a shower at the camp before watching the sun rise over the hill near the camp. You can then choose to ride the camels or take a 4WD back to where you started.

From here, we’ll keep going to Fes through the Ziz Valley, which is home to the second-longest river in Morocco. Along the way, we’ll cross the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you’ll be able to enjoy stunning views and have time for lunch at a restaurant.

We’ll drive to Fes and stop at the Azrou Cedar Forest to see the wild monkeys. We will take a short walk through the forest to get some shots. We’ll stop at Ifrane, which is like a little Switzerland in Morocco. Finally, we’ll drop you off at your hotel in Fes late afternoon. That’s the end of our private 2-day tour from Marrakech to Fes.

Your two-day best Marrakech to Fes desert tour will begin early in the morning when a driver from Moroccan Desert Tours comes to pick you up at your hotel or riad in Marrakech. You will then be taken to the High Atlas mountains.

Getting through the port of Tizi N'Tichka and stopping to enjoy breathtaking views and take pictures of the Berber towns and the area's lovely scenery. Then we'll head south to Ait ben Haddou, a protected town that has been a UNESCO world heritage site since 1986.
This amazing place has been used to film many famous movies, including Game of Thrones, Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile, and The Mummy.

The transportation we used throughout the excursion.

Toyota Prado

At Moroccan Desert Tours, we offer a wide range of hiring cars with drivers. Because the roads in the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert can be rough, our company uses Toyotas, which are some of the best 4WD cars. We have a Land Cruiser, a Toyota Prado, and a Toyota Prado TX. All over Morocco, our 4x4s are registered and allowed to be used by tourists.

Vito

If you want to travel through Morocco in style and ease, the Mercedes Vito is a great choice. For safety and comfort, it has strong air conditioning, airbags all around, and seats that are plenty big. It's great for small groups, even though it can fit up to six people. What's the bonus? There is a mini-fridge on board where you can keep your drinks and snacks during the trip!

Ford

You might want to rent a Ford Torneo if you're going to Morocco with a big family (up to 8 people). The van is the biggest in its class, and it can fit up to 10 bags and lots of people. The van is strong enough to handle cold and wet weather, and the seats are comfortable. So, it's a safe and roomy option for traveling around Morocco.

Mercedes Sprinter

The Mercedes Sprinter is a good choice if you're going to Morocco with a group. The bus is fancy and roomy enough for up to 17 people to sit easily. The Mercedes Sprinter will make your trip feel extra special, whether you're going on a short trip or a long tour through the scenery of Morocco.

Amazing time in Morocco The trip to the desert was beautiful. We made a lovely country! I got to know you and enjoy everything you gave me. I loved your history and landscape, but most of all I loved your people. I made the right choice by going with this company and help. This group of people is unique, friendly, and has a beautiful soul. I'll be back as often as I can because everything was great! Of course, I'll pick the same outfit and my good helper! Big kisses!!!

Moroccan Desert Tours We are two families who took Omar's overnight tour of the Marrakech desert and ended the trip in Fes. The trip to the desert was "SPECTACULAR," and we can't say enough good things about the guide, the accommodations, the scenery, and the places we visited. We can't wait to do it again. We had a great time in Morocco. If you only remember one thing from our trip, make sure you go to the desert and spend the night in a tent—it's amazing.
