Overview
This 6-day tour gives Morocco’s highlights room to breathe. Start in Casablanca at the Hassan II Mosque, explore the elegant capital Rabat, wander the blue streets of Chefchaouen, and dive into the medieval medina of Fes with a local guide. Then cross the Middle Atlas and the Ziz Valley to Merzouga, where you’ll enjoy a sunset camel trek and a full day of desert exploration — Gnawa music in Khamlia, meeting nomad families, and 4x4 excursions in the Erg Chebbi dunes — with two nights in a Sahara desert camp. On the final day, travel through the Todgha Gorge, Dades Valley and the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou before crossing the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. It’s the same route as our 5-day Casablanca tour, with an extra day to enjoy the desert.

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca – Rabat
Meet your driver in Casablanca and visit the Hassan II Mosque, then drive to Rabat to explore the Kasbah of the Udayas and the Chellah Necropolis. Night: Rabat.

Day 2: Rabat – Chefchaouen – Fes
Scenic drive through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen. Wander the blue alleyways and visit Ras El Maa waterfall, then continue to Fes in the late afternoon. Night: Fes.

Day 3: Fes Guided Medina Tour
Explore the medieval heart of Fes with a local guide: the Bou Inania Medersa, the tanneries, the souks and the famous Al-Qarawiyyin University. Afternoon free to explore at your own pace. Night: Fes.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Depart Fes crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in the alpine town of Ifrane and stop in the cedar forest near Azrou, where Barbary macaques may sometimes be seen, then descend through the dramatic Ziz Valley to reach Merzouga. Enjoy a sunset camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes and spend the night in a Sahara desert camp.

Day 5: Full Day Merzouga Desert Exploration
Wake early for a magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, enjoy a full day of desert exploration: visit Khamlia village for Gnawa music, meet a nomad family, see the seasonal Dayet Srji lake if it holds water, and ride 4x4 across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Another night under the stars in the desert camp.
Day 6: Merzouga – Todgha Gorge – Dades Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, drive through Rissani and the towering Todgha Gorge, then along the Dades Valley and on to the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass to Marrakech, with an evening drop-off at your hotel or Marrakech airport.
